Signed legal papers believing i was on deed to property. I'm not. do i have legal recourse?

I signed deed with a lawyer involved and my common-law partner. Found out im not on deed. can i fight this in Ottawa Ontario? (I did not read all paper work as I believed my "spouse" and the lawyer. Common-law partner and I are seperating and he is trying to pull a fast-one|||You need to see your OWN lawyer. He can advise you.





You can probably file a complaint against the lawyer involved with the Law Society of Upper Canada .

The other lawyer, while working for your spouse, has a duty to protect all parties in that sort of transaction. At minimum he should have advised you to retain your own lawyer.





So find a lawyer and explain it to him and ask for advice.|||it's your own fault for not reading and understanding what it said|||In England you can register an interest in the property with the land registry so that it can not be sold without your permission. You will need to get a lawyer.|||Get yourself a good lawyer NOW. Get expert advice and find out where you stand.





And NEVER sign paperwork without reading and understanding it!|||Are you sure you are not on the deed?


Quit claims can be filed without your knowledge or consent.





If you were never on the deed, any documents you may have signed pertaining to ownership and/or debts against that property would automatically be void.





Consult your own attorney if you think this could become nasty.
